Android’s 7.0 initially known by the codename ‘N’ has finally got a name!
It will now be officially called Android Nougat. It is taking over Marshmallow and will soon be released (though the release date is yet to be announced).
Since, its announcement a couple of months back, this latest version by Android has been constantly occupying the headlines!
The promised array of new, improved and updated features has kept the excitement levels sky-high among the general Android users. Every online and social media is set abuzz with the new set of features that Android Nougat promises to offer.
This article will throw some light on some of the interesting features that are expected to be a part of Android Nougat Multi-Window Functionality and Quick Switch will no longer be restricted to certain devices!
Great Expectations from the much awaited Android Nougat
Considered as one of the best feature of Android Nougat, multi-window support has been creating quite a buzz among the users. Though, this feature is currently available in Galaxy S7 and Note 5, not all devices are compatible with it. With Android Nougat, every device will enjoy the multi-screen functionality, and it will not be restricted just to the Samsung mobiles.
Enhanced UI and an improved notification shade
Android Nougat tweaked its UI to enhance it and make it more user-friendly. It is quite apparent from the way it has (re) designed its notification shade. It enables the user to quickly control the toggles while swiping down from top of the screen. User can thus easily activate Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
Moreover, notifications have become more space-efficient – It will just occupy the width of the screen, displaying smaller fonts. Also, the notifications can be made to come in stacks, according to a particular app. So, you will not have the notification shade filled up with separate Facebook messages.
New Settings Menu
Although, Android Marshmallow didn’t require any major changes in the Settings Menu, Nougat offers a revamped setting menu. This new version enables the users to have a quick view to the information like total RAM usage, data usage or Bluetooth connectivity status.
There new changes that are expected; definitely are something to look forward to. Android Mobile phone users are waiting for the new update eagerly. The update will first come to premium mobile phones from Nexus, Samsung, Motorola and Sony while others will follow. While mobile phone users cannot wait to have Nougat on their devices, developers too are keenly waiting for the update, as after marshmallow now, it’s time to upgrade skills and get mobile applications ready for the update.
